Job Summary

DESCRIPTION

Amazon is looking for a program manager to join its Global Workplace Public Relations team. The Workplace PR team defends Amazon’s reputation by rapidly responding to brand/reputational issues and by scenario-planning in a fast-based, decision-oriented environment. This role will be responsible for redefining best practices and processes related to external communications, across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The ideal candidate will have experience understanding evolving environments and a proven track record of producing high-quality, actionable data analytics to help leaders effectively monitor and manage news cycles.

Key job responsibilities

  • Monitor traditional and social media to predict and manage large news cycles
  • Oversee the international Workplace PR’s media metrics and measurement program
  • Deliver weekly and quarterly analytics reports informed by global media tracking data; connect findings across international teams to generate insights
  • Collaborate with team members to build and archive statements related to new initiatives, program/product launches, and other timely and sensitive topics
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking, social media tracking, and reporting
  • Ensure media inquiries are properly logged into Salesforce database
  • Understand the evolving media landscape, the journalists most interested in telling Amazon stories, and the topics that matter the most to their readers
  • Analyze coverage from reporters who consistently cover Amazon’s Workplace, understanding the types of stories they write to recommend how best to engage with them
  • Review editorial stories for accuracy and balance, and work with reporters when updates to stories are needed
  • Manage a European and Asian calendar of news announcements

Basic Qualifications

  • Several years of Communications or Program Manager experience, preferably with national brands.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related discipline.
  • Experience using data tools including, but not limited to, Tableau, NetBase, and Salesforce

Preferred Qualifications

  • Outstanding reporting and writing skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
