Job Summary


Amazon is seeking a talented, highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Payment Acceptance & Experience team, which is responsible for enabling customers globally to pay for services with their preferred payment methods. In this role, you will manage payment partner (acquirers, gateways) relationships in support of delivering best-in-class innovation and experiences for Just Walk Out, an exciting new service that enables a much faster in-store shopping experience by letting customers walk in with a payment card, pick up items and leave. The role will entail concurrently driving multiple engagements with the goal of negotiating commercial partnerships with extern payment partners on JWO. It will involve working with Amazon Product managers, and corresponding external BD, Product and Legal teams. It is crucial for the candidate to be able to influence without authority, and paint a compelling narrative that illustrates the benefits of new payments innovations with external partners.

2 roles available in the UK or EU. The role can be based in London, Paris, Munich or Berlin.

Key job responsibilities

Day To Day, You Will

  • Analyze data to identify key prospective acquirers/payment gateways that can help scaling JWOS in geographies
  • Identify senior executives at key partner firms, and engage with right counterparts expeditiously
  • Lead sales outreach, educating partners about the program and defining partnership opportunities
  • Negotiate commercial terms and contracts with external entities
  • Cultivate relationships with card network account teams to facilitate acquirer/gateway onboarding
  • Collaborate with internal Product teams to influence roadmaps and unblock participation
  • Refine go-to-market plans in collaboration with internal and external teams

Basic Qualifications

  • 6 to 8 years of experience in roles such as Account Management, Partner Management or Business Development.
  • Experience securing partnerships with complex, sophisticated counterparts
  • Track record of timely execution of complex programs
  • Analytical skills with demonstrated ability to manage the business ‘by the numbers’
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally. Expected travel &lt25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in account management/partner management in the financial services/payments industry
  • Experience in business development for technical products
