Strategy & Governance Partner

As a Barclays Strategy & Governance Partner, you will be part of the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB COO) Strategy & Governance team that has been set up recently to advise the CIB COO in making informed decisions on the most pressing business challenges and opportunities facing the CIB. Primary focus on opportunities within the Operations and Technology functions you will work with the Director and Head of Strategy & Governance to support and deliver on a wide range of strategic projects and initiatives.

Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances

What will you be doing?

  • Supporting key strategic projects
  • Leveraging strategic and technical skillset to provide analysis, insights and commentary
  • Working in partnership with representatives from Finance & Business Management and Centres of Excellence to source data, analyse and provide forward looking insightful MI
  • Managing multiple stakeholders and ensuring they are kept in the loop when and where necessary
  • Overseeing culture, engagement & communications initiatives including designing and executing communications strategy and engagement strategy for the CIB COO

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience of managing stakeholder relationships and coordinating with internal stakeholders at all levels of seniority, including Dir / MD level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with ability to distil information into key messages and deliver succinctly according to audience
  • Ability to appropriately prioritise activities in order to deliver to tight deadlines and multi-task in a pressurised environment

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Experience in financial services; on an international scale preferred
  • Expert level of competency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Involvement in colleague engagement / cultural / communications
  • Creative mindset with a strong interest in strategic projects
