Head of Employee Conduct Oversight

Glasgow

As Barclays Head of Employee Conduct Oversight, you will be leading our Compliance team, driving innovation and instilling a mind-set of customer service and flawless execution across the team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a knowledgeable team, where you will be playing a key role being responsible for a key part of the Compliance Strategy, helping to create new programmes, such as the Employee Conduct Insights programme, and contributing to the on-going evolution, improvement and embedment of the One Conduct Framework programme.

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading the transformation of the Employee Conduct Compliance team, with the objective of making it a best in class Compliance function in the industry
  • Managing the creation of new functions, such as The Employee Conduct Insights programme, which will be responsible for analysing data sourced from Barclays’ internal functions
  • Collaborating with data scientists and technologists to develop advanced analytical tools, machine learning and the operating model for the programme
  • Developing procedures for data governance, escalations and referrals, and evidencing of the good work being carried out
  • Managing a team who will assist with implementation of programmes, supporting their career development by providing feedback, training opportunities and assignments
  • Participating in Industry forums in order to assimilate best practices relevant to Employee Conduct
  • Providing oversight of the Conduct Rules programme, involving working with Employee Relations (ER) to ensure appropriate handling of cases
  • Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies

What We’re Looking For

  • Experienced leader, team player, as well as technology projects expert
  • Knowledge of the Financial industry and Compliance, regulatory expectations and risk management
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to debate, persuade and come to consensus with win-win outcomes
  • Expertise in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, Word

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent advanced degree in information systems, business analytics, or behavioural science
  • Experienced with data analytics (use of Python, Tableau, Excel Macros)
  • Background in Behavioural sciences or psychology
  • Experience with project management or Agile methodology
