Personal Assistant


As a Barclays Personal Assistant you will provide comprehensive PA support to Directors in Private Bank Technology as well as support members of their team on key projects and initiatives. You will be a key member of the team supporting organisational management, processes including timely provision of all required technology and access. Working collaboratively with colleagues at all levels, to achieve the best outcomes and quality of service required.

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?

  • You will manage calendars, organising a range of meetings for senior colleagues in global locations, provide relevant agendas, compiling materials, minutes as required
  • Arranging travel, processing expenses, raising of purchase orders and processing of invoices
  • Preparing and updating documents to a high standard
  • Acting as a point of contact and co-ordination of PB Technology neighbourhood within the location which may include locker, desk allocation, permissions for restricted access areas
  • Partnering with other functions (e.g. CRES, Technology) on ad hoc projects as well as day-to-day as point of escalation for office issues

What We’re Looking For

  • You will be able to show a history of PA experience, helping colleagues at Managing Director or Director level
  • You must be proficient in Outlook or equivalent Calendar applications, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • You must be confident in your ability to work independently and also as part of an internal, global and virtual team
  • You will be confident and articulate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and rapport and demonstrate tact and discretion

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Excellent organisation skills with excellent attention to detail and experience delaing with confidential information
  • You will need to demonstrate resilience, being both flexible and able to work across a range of issues
  • You should have experience and proficiency with a variety of applications for Expenses, HR /Recruitment and Procurement as well as Collaboration tools
