Technology Risk Partner


As a Barclays Technology Risk Partner, you will be ensuring effective governance is maintained across key customer processes underpinning controls, to strengthen the control environment. This includes providing control business partnership services to the business which allow for targeted control focused interventions to fix and/or simplify controls and assurance to ensure that customer needs are met by the process every time, so that BX is able to meet its regulatory and compliance commitments.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensuring relevant stakeholder groups manage their risk profile in line with/ adherence to the Barclays Control Framework
  • Ensuring an appropriate and effective governance framework is in place. Providing Control SME content, input and challenge
  • Having a sightline across risk and control events, indicators and control themes in Barclays and Externally, supporting relevant stakeholder groups with timely and relevant insight
  • Defining and deliver Control Assurance activity
  • Providing oversight of control remediation, leaning in with SME knowledge. Quality assure delivered risk remediation
  • Supporting risk assessment processes, lead risk regular risk assessment review with relevant stakeholder groups
  • Understanding the business priorities, strategy and change agenda, deploying knowledge and expertise in support of a sustained control posture
  • Supporting Senior Managers in discharging their duties and partnering with Risk and Audit on common areas of interest to provide an enriched controls advisory service

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive proven experience in Operational Risk and Controls, ideally for Technology
  • Experience of working on the design and implementation of controls improvement initiatives
  • Practical experience of Risk and Control governance activities including Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), other risk and control environment assessments and Control Fora
  • Experience of reviewing of policy & standards, preparing gap analysis and delivering actions to complete

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Ability to demonstrate experience of coordinating and supporting Stakeholders
  • Highly organised, with ability to prioritise and work under pressure, delivering to tight deadlines and multiple demands across a ‘matrix’ organisation
  • High degree of decision-making authority, and needs to demonstrate ability to influence upwards

Where will you be working?

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64-acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
