We are looking for Lead Agile Delivery Managers to join our delivery team, part of our growing team of delivery specialists at the BBC.

Our delivery community is part of the BBC’s Product Group responsible for the design, development and delivery of the BBC’s diverse portfolio of digital products. Loved and used by millions these are some of the largest and highest profile digital products in the UK. Our teams build iPlayer, Sounds, BBC News, Sport, Childrens, Bitesize and other supporting services. It’s an unparalleled portfolio and now is an incredibly exciting time to join us!

We’re looking for people with a passion for agile delivery with the behaviours to inspire and guide teams. You’ll work in small, friendly and collaborative agile teams of developers, researchers, designers, editorial, product and delivery people.

Role Responsibility

As a Lead Delivery Manager you will manage multiple teams and work on a diverse range of projects, products and services at scale.

You Will Do This By

  • implementing the delivery process of products and services towards outcomes for multiple teams, services and products.
  • role modelling, demonstrating and sharing knowledge of agile delivery practices.
  • delivering successful outcomes at scale
  • coaching teams on agile/lean techniques and advocating for these orchestrating efforts across teams and disciplines
  • maintaining delivery momentum and managing blockers, risks and impediments to progress for programmes of work at scale.
  • ensuring work is visible and there is an iterative plan to work towards
  • identifying and bringing the right people together at the right time
  • creating an environment where continuous improvements of teams’ working practices can happen, including measuring success, inspecting and adapting
  • improving teams’ working practice
  • Line management of team members

Are you the right candidate?

The Successful Candidate Will

  • have knowledge and experience of delivery practices and can represent and advocate for these practices inside and outside your team
  • lead effective supplier and contractor management within the constraints of the project. Know how to monitor projected budgets against expenditure
  • communicate effectively, influence and build trust at all levels of the organisation
  • successfully lead teams through the full product delivery life cycle and develop sustainable support models
  • optimise the delivery flow of team and identify innovative ways to unblock issues.
  • focus on the outcome, proactively challenging and seeking to improve processes of increasing complexity and scale
  • lead a continual planning process in a complex environment at scale
  • know how to build successful high performing delivery teams and ensure teams are collaborative and communicating effectively with each other and across organisational
