We use and continue to embed trauma informed, relationship based practice with focus on the Strengths based model, working with key partners across the district within our work with families and we have a clear model of care for the children and young people we look after.

The role you would be coming to do
To ensure that children are not harmed by people who work and volunteer with children by responding promptly, effectively and confidentially to allegations and concerns from all organisations offering a service to children, ensuring high standards of professional practice consistent with legislation and statutory guidance, specifically Children Act 2004, Working Together, and Dealing with Allegations of Abuse against staff who work with children.

To challenge and support agencies to take appropriate and timely steps to safeguard children from neglect and abuse by professionals, volunteers and those in public office who have direct contact or responsibility for children.

To provide accurate information to senior managers across all services and agencies contributing to the care and protection of young people, of the extent and nature of allegations against people working and volunteering with children and young people.

The person we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has experience of chairing meetings and co-ordinating complex allegations management. You need to be highly organised and able to work on your own initiative. You need to ensure that processes and procedures are followed. You need to be highly professional, with a comprehensive understanding of harm and abuse as well as data protection, local and national policies and procedures.

Registration with Social Work England
