Based at Britannia House.

The department is moving towards a hybrid working model, flexibly combining time working at home and in the office.

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate. Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

We currently have vacancies for 1 full time permanent position 37 hours and 1 job share 18.50 hours, working pattern Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team within the Department of Health and Wellbeing. Full training and support will be provided to the successful candidates.

The Contributions Team within Adult Services is responsible for reviewing service user’s financial assessments to determine how much they can afford to contribute towards the cost of the services arranged to meet their assessed social care needs under (Charging and Assessment of Resources) Regulations 2014.

The main responsibilities of the post include:

  • The key role of a Contribution Officer, is to gather information relating to service users Benefits, Income and expenditure from internal and external sources. The successful candidates should ideally have working knowledge of the Department of Works and Pensions Benefits services, appropriate and additional training will be offered to the successful candidate.
  • Experience of using a range of IT packages such as SAP, SystmONE and ContrOCC would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided.
  • You will need the ability to analyse complex problems and information and arrive at solutions
  • Experience of organising own workload and prioritising accordingly.
  • Experience of working effectively to tight deadlines with accuracy using complex numerical information, and able to demonstrate understanding of working in a financial and commercial environment
