Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual to join our Partnership Delivery Team as a Regional Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (VAWDASV) Adviser. The aim of the role is to assist with the development and implementation of strategic solutions to Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence legislation and to facilitate partnership working between key third sector and statutory organisations across the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan region.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The successful applicant will work alongside other managers within a range of service areas in the Council and across key partners including the Police, Probation, Health and the Third Sector.
  • The role will involve taking a lead on existing work already underway and developing new projects to achieve the required outcomes.
  • The successful applicant will oversee the implementation of mandatory requirements of the Welsh Government including training, communications and the delivery of the regional VAWDASV strategy action plan.
  • A key element of the role is to proactively develop and maintain effective joint working arrangements between a variety of partners across the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan region, joining up and improving the delivery of preventative, protective and supportive services for vulnerable people in the city.
  • As part of the transformation agenda the post holder will also assist in the wider range of operational planning, development and implementation of key work programmes that support the strategic direction of the Council’s Corporate plan, Wellbeing plan and Community Safety plan.

Job Requirements:

  • You will have experience of managing staff and resources and the ability to deliver change effectively.
  • The role will involve working with internal and external partners to ensure activity is delivered successfully, therefore excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.
  • You will have demonstrable experience of working in the VAWDASV field demonstrating an understanding of legislation in Wales and the UK as well as relevant strategies delivering VAWDASV services.

Qualification & Experience:

  • The successful applicant will need to have experience of working with new technology and have excellent digital skills. You will need to work well within a team and be able to work on your own initiative.
