Your opportunity

An opportunity has arisen within our Private Client Services (PCS) team for a Tax Client Support Team role with scope to develop technical skills over time. Our team provide personal tax services, both compliance and advisory, to a wide range of clients comprising high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, trusts and partnerships. The team consists of 13 staff locally. You will be part of a national network of other like-minded Tax Administrators in Deloitte offices around the UK.

Your role

You will have responsibility for the provision of administrative support for all aspects of our compliance-led advisory business. Office based duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting and supporting the professional team in delivering outstanding client service
  • Managing and co-ordinating incoming correspondence and liaising with internal departments on administrative matters
  • Running reports and mail merges from our dedicated tax return software
  • Ensuring our client database is kept up to date and compliant with legislative requirements e.g. GDPR, anti-money laundering regulations
  • Assisting with the end to end tax return compliance process including;
  • Liaising with third parties, HMRC and clients in order to obtain tax return information
  • Monitoring when clients send back their tax return information and updating our systems accordingly
  • Tracking tax return progress, running ad hoc reports and accounting back to key stakeholder
  • Organising timely chasers where information has not been received.
  • Arranging for the provision of client information to our central compliance team
  • Completing and forwarding standard documentation to assist the compliance team
  • Responsibility for the bundling of tax returns to clients
  • Submitting tax returns on-line to HMRC
  • Ensuring client letters are sent out to on a timely basis
  • Setting up electronic client files
  • Data management
  • Assistance with our internal new client procedures
  • Assisting with the Financial Control management for all clients
  • Monitoring and assisting with our Financial Control system and providing revenue control assistance to the team
  • Primary support in the office for using our CCH tax return software
  • Testing and assisting with the running of automation tools/software/technology
  • Office/Pillar point of contact for national processes
  • Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution

The post holder will be required to carry out any other duties that are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by the line manager or Head of Department.

Location: You will be based in our Leeds office.

Work pattern: This is a permanent opportunity. The role will be worked on full-time basis.

  • Methodical and highly organised working skills

  • Capable of meeting challenging/demanding and competing deadlines
  • High degree of IT literacy including Microsoft Office programmes, or equivalent. Some knowledge of VBA would be desirable, but not essential.

Personal independence
