An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical/Counselling/Health Psychologist to help support the development and delivery of psychological services within the newly established Post Covid Syndrome Service (PCSS) within Pennine Lancashire.

Newly qualified and/or band 7 preceptorship post will be considered. This post is fulltime but we will consider flexible working and/or part time hours for the right candidate(s). Funding has been confirmed till the end of March 2023 but is likely to be extended beyond this.

The PCSS has been set up to support people with Long COVID/Post-COVID Syndrome and consists of a supportive multidisciplinary team, including Psychology, OT, SALT, Physiotherapy, Dietetics and Secondary/Primary care Medical Staff.

The role involves a hybrid model of remote and clinic working but we will consider fully remote working as required.

The PCSS aims to develop and deliver a community based integrated model of healthcare for people with Long COVID/Post-COVID Syndrome. Your role will include providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

We will expect you to work independently and as part of a team according to a plan agreed with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Operational/Clinical Lead. There will be exciting opportunities to support service development initiatives, such as the development and delivery of therapeutic groups, staff training, patient engagement projects and research.

You will be responsible for supervising junior members of the team, such as the Assistant Psychologist or any Trainees on placement. You will also have opportunities to work collaboratively with other members of the team and contribute towards our growing knowledge of Post Covid Syndrome both locally and nationally. There will be CPD opportunities to help support your growth and development within this clinical area.
