YMCA Crawley Foyer is a newly refurbished supported housing scheme for young people aged 16 to 25. The Crawley Foyer provides accommodation for 40 young people. The focus of the work is to engage creatively with young people to identify, map and encourage growth of their strengths and talents as they develop into a sustainable and independent adulthood. We provide a groupwork and activities programme, More Than A Room, and a holistic support package alongside the accommodation, which actively encourage residents into education, training, employment or voluntary work.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Project Manager to join our enthusiastic team at Crawley Foyer, supporting the service manager with ensuring the effective daily operations and the delivery of safe, welcoming, and secure supported housing for young people or adults at risk. You will oversee referrals to the service, interviews, and the induction process for new residents, working to always keep voids within the project to a minimum. You will take an asset-based approach, coaching staff to identify and develop their skills, strengths, and talents, enabling them to better support residents with the transitioning into independent living, whilst keeping safeguarding principles and practice at the forefront of the work we do.

In this role, you will work closely with the service manager and safeguarding team to ensure the team operates best safeguarding practice within the service ensuring timely and proactive risk management and consistency in approach. Additionally, you will be expected to play a large part in the recruiting and induction of new staff. Your expected working pattern will be Monday to Friday during office hours, with occasional work at weekends.

You will have solid experience of working in supported housing, or similar services for young people and/or adults at risk, delivering objectives and targets. A successful applicant would have experience in managing or supervising a team and be confident creating or maintaining psychologically informed environments and overseeing the delivery of trauma informed care and support. You will already have experience of coordinating housing management tasks including contract compliance, maintenance, void/arrears management, and health & safety. Experience of overseeing safeguarding procedures for young people or adults at risk in residential settings, and knowledge of how to maintain professional boundaries is also desirable. You will be competent with MS Packages and have a high level of organisation.
