Harris Hill is urgently seeking an interim Head of Digital for 3-4 months, supporting the recruitment phase with an international welfare charity.

The Head of Digital role covers a wide range of catchment areas, including Fundraising, Web, Campaigns and Social. However, the focus here will be on the fundraising and digital engagement sides.

The role itself will be 3-4 months, ideally full time but could be some scope for fewer days at higher rates, so if you usual pay is more but you could take less days, please speak to us about what might work. The current day rate is based on a £46-50k salary banding.

Key duties:

Work with the director of fundraising communications to develop a digital engagement strategy to build an effective anti-torture movement in the UK, delivering effective campaigns in support of the accountability and protection elements of the charity’s strategy, cost effectively recruiting new supporters to the cause and significantly increasing digital revenue. Also contributing to the development of an overall fundraising strategy.

To lead on the charity’s journey towards digital maturity. Working with ICT manager, SMT and stakeholders across the charity to ensure that the charity embeds digital solutions at the heart of the delivery of its strategy.

Manage the website, including liaising with external agencies and ICT on security; develop content strategy and contribute to content plan; oversee technical website development; ensure content, training and systems meet needs of all internal stakeholders.

Develop data processes with Database Manager including investigating opportunities to automate and integrate systems; help to ensure digital activity is compliant with current fundraising regulation, e.g. GDPR, and that appropriate security measures are implemented to protect supporter and client data, and maintain key services (e.g. clinical referrals).

Develop and deliver digital strategy, as part of the wider Communications & Campaigns and Fundraising strategies; set stretching digital communications and fundraising KPIs, implement regular analysis and develop testing and user journeys.

Contribute to the development of the wider Fundraising and Communications directorate strategy; support and share skills with wider team; train and build digital capacity across the charity.
