Salary Range: £27,009 – £30,101 pro rata per annum (actual salary £13,505 – £15,051 per annum)

The Role:

Applications are now being welcomed for the role of a part time (18.5 hours per week) Youth Offending Team Officer based in our South East Hampshire team. You will educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate significant experience of working with children and young people aged 10 to 18. Understanding of adverse childhood experience and trauma informed practice would be desirable.

Our Youth Offending Team Officers work with children aged 10-17 years who have found their way into the criminal justice system. You will work directly with the
young people and their families, utilising your skills to help them to make changes in their lives, not to re-offend and to improve their relationships, school attendance and to support parents. You will liaise with other agencies to improve outcomes. You will also attend inter-agency meetings, attend at the
Youth Court when required and produce written reports.

Literacy, numeracy and IT skills are a must. You should have experience of working with children and families with complex needs. It will also be a big advantage if you know how to deal effectively with difficult inter-personal situations.

Please note you must be able to meet the travel requirements of the role.
