We have a fantastic opportunity for Food & Beverage Assistants to join our Bristol team. This is an exciting, fast-paced role, and you’ll be joining a great team!

We have various contracts available from 16 hours a week through to 39 hours a week. These vacancies are across various areas of our department, including our downstairs Bistro and Swedish Food Market, Kitchen Production, and our Customer Restaurant.

In the IKEA world, we call this role a Food & Beverage Co-Worker.

Planned starting date: 29 October 2023 and Mid-November.

• IKEA is a Living Wage Foundation Employer (£10.10 an hour as basic hourly rate, rising to £10.95 effective from 01 January 2023).
• We operate 7 days a week and so full availability to work during the daytime, late evenings, and full weekends is essential.
• This role will involve working weekend working. For the 39-hour contract, you will work 1 in 2 weekends, and for smaller contracts, you will be expected to work 3 in 4 weekends.

We are looking for someone like you to help us deliver a taste of Sweden and a great customer experience with high quality, sustainable food. You will contribute to a passionate and friendly team to deliver a better everyday life for the many, while embracing change with a solution-orientated mindset. This is an extremely fast paced working environment and requires you to multitask, producing and serving food with regular heavy lifting.

Prior experience in food is desirable, but not essential if you have a ‘roll up your sleeve’ mindset to the various tasks and challenges that present themselves. If you have previous experience within a kitchen – for instance, in catering or food production, we want to hear from you!

Due to Health & Safety regulations, applicants must be over the age of 18.

As a Food & Beverage Co-Worker, you will report to one of the Food Managers or Team Leaders and work alongside them in the kitchen help to create a safe, healthy, delicious, sustainable, affordable, and joyful food experience for both the customer and the co-worker.

• Support in preparing and serving food to the many customers from breakfast time through to an evening meal.
• Ensure a superb customer experience in our front-of-house area (including serving on tills, ensuring a clean, inviting and safe restaurant environment).
• This is a physically demanding but rewarding job. You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy a varied role.

• You will be ensuring amazing food quality, so that our meals are served consistently.
• You will work to produce food – including cooking large quantities of our Swedish meatballs.
• You will work to minimise food waste, ensuring consistent portion control and upholding our commitment to sustainability.
