Looking for an industry leader with significant experience in the world of international payments who enjoys running a large, growing and highly diverse business in a rapidly evolving innovation and regulatory landscape. This leader will be responsible for overseeing the performance of the existing book of cross border FX Payments business across COB and CB client base as well as driving the regional growth agenda by focusing on market needs, competitive landscape, new capabilities.

About The Team

Cross Border Payments is at JPMorgan’s core and one of our strategic areas of growth. This business sits within the Payments franchise and partners closely with JPMorgan’s Markets business for FX execution. The regional Product Management function broadly focuses on driving go to market success by ensuring visible thought leadership both internally and externally, focus on end to end customer experience and finding new ways of expanding product reach, day to day management along with maintaining standards of risk mitigation and controls for the product suite to ensure the business maintains client focused delivery of market viable, profitable and operationally supported solutions.

About The Position

Ideal candidate is someone who is already an established business leader with a passion for building and growing great Payments products that create customer delight. This leader understands the highly nuanced and evolving landscape of customer expectations, competitive themes and regulatory expectations and is able to successfully develop and execute a product strategy to deliver rapid growth across multiple geographies and customer segments within the EMEA region. We are also looking for someone who enjoys leading and developing a high performing team and building great organizational collaborations to deliver against the growth aspirations.

Success in the role will require strong partnership, collaboration and engagement with Client facing teams, other Product areas, Markets, Risk, Technology, Operations, Compliance and Legal.

  • Build and manage a best in class Cross Border Payments franchise within JP Morgan’s geographical and customer footprint in EMEA using smart approaches on build vs buy, partnerships and other ways to deliver speed to market
  • Develop a deep understanding of JPM’s global systems and relevant payments nuances in each of the markets to devise, recommend and deliver fast, simple and varied methods of making payments around the world
  • Liaison with local business controls teams , develop a deep understanding of local regulations, reporting requirements and seek necessary approvals, as and when required to operate the Product set within JPM policies and applicable regulations
  • Anticipate internal and external factors impacting cross border payments business locally and implementing plans to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
  • Create high visibility for the Product both internally and externally by partnering with other areas to ensure presence at conferences (including speaking engagements/ publishing), simple & relevant internal/ client facing digital content, ongoing sales awareness & education
  • Have a firm grip on competition and industry initiatives by developing local market knowledge and participating in industry events and seminars

Qualifications

  • Extensive proven experience in EMEA Payments Market, inclusive of Regulations, Technologies and Business Model trends with understanding of different payment networks/clearing systems and channels in cross border payments business . Similar exposure in other regions a plus
  • A balanced combination of prior roles across one or more functions is highly desirable (e.g. Product Management, Product Sales, FX Solutions, Payments Technology/ Operations)
  • A thoughtful manager who can oversee a team and drive meaningful results
  • Creative problem solver, capable of developing innovative and differentiated solutions
  • Superior organizational and communication skills to deal with complex projects requiring thorough analysis and leading/coordinating multiple resources and assets
  • Ability to proactively multiply thought expertise across the firm
  • Self-driven professional to deliver our vision, business strategy and P&L
  • Soft skills -effective and impactful communication delivered to different internal and external audiences by using multiple medias
  • Bachelor’s degree, Graduate education in Business or Engineering preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of applications
