Job description

Join us and you’ll become part of a team that works together to provide the best family restaurant experience – by far. You will have probably visited one of our restaurants before but might not realise the variety and scope of the work available. We will help to find the best role for you and provide you with the training required. We take pride in our training and you will learn new skills and can even work towards an accredited qualification.

We can offer a guaranteed hours contract which secures the work you need and can offer anything from 8 hours through to 40 hours a week, depending on your need. This is for anyone looking to work from 20 to 40 hours a week. We can also give you the flexibility many other jobs can’t, as we are open 7 days a week and shift can patterns can be fitted around your needs.

As well as a competitive hourly pay you can receive a whole host of great rewards and benefits which can include:

  • Free Meals when working
  • Employee Discount Card with discounts and savings from over 1,600 retailers including M&S and River Island
  • 28 days paid holiday per annum
  • Free private health care after three years service
  • Life Assurance (after 1 year service)
  • Opportunities for promotion

We have an Employee Assistance Programme provided by AXA that is a confidential service that can be accessed 24/7.

A franchised restaurant is a restaurant operated by a local business person trading under the McDonald’s name. Currently over 80% of our restaurants in the UK are franchised but from a customer point of view there’s no difference. For employees there will be minor differences between a company and a franchised restaurant.

Job responsibilities

Quite simply, you’ll be working in our fast moving, high energy environment and we’re looking for a genuine smile plus an ability to connect with customers and make them feel valued.

Job features

You’ll need to be confident in approaching and dealing with diverse groups of people. Friendly, courteous and helpful behaviour will come naturally to you and you’ll work well as part of a team. Effective communication skills such as attentive listening, face-to-face verbal communication and eye contact are a must. You’ll also need to understand the importance of maintaining high standards of quality and service as well as cleanliness. The ability to maintain high energy levels whilst working both efficiently and productively is essential. Finally, your appearance should be smart and clean.
