About the job

We’re looking for an IT Asset Manager to help us take a proactive and hands on approach to IT Asset Management (ITAM). We’re looking for an individual who has experience of working within an IT Asset Management team. A willingness to continually learn and share knowledge is a must, in a forever developing landscape. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to enhance the National Trust’s approach to IT Asset Management as well as expanding your own knowledge and experience at the same time.

You’ll be part of the IT Asset Management (ITAM) function who are part of the larger IT team. We’ll be looking for someone to work within IT Operations but also collaborate closely and build up strong relationships with the various internal technical teams and third-party vendors to the Trust in relation to ITAM.

You’ll manage inventory of CIs and assets to ensure that we are capturing the right detail and remain compliant with our vendors and provide a service for the purchase and renewal of licences.

You’ll identify process improvement opportunities and ways to automate actions to allow the team more time to develop other areas of ITAM. You’ll also contribute towards financial reporting.

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don’t need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what is possible in this role. For this position we’re looking for someone who has:

  • Knowledge of licensing agreements and terminology involving software, particularly with Tier one vendors such as Microsoft and Oracle
  • Knowledge and experience of Snow License Manager and associated discovery/ITSM toolsets e.g., ServiceNow

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of ITIL v3 or v4
