Technical Authority (TA) are a vitally important part of the freight and passenger business. We are here to consistently deliver for our front line and customers today, tomorrow and for the future.

TA’s purpose is to support our front line to deliver safe and efficient performance for passengers and freight. We do this through providing technical leadership and specialist expertise, managing the National Control and Competence Frameworks, facilitating technical growth and lateral learning and assuring regional delivery.

Brief Description

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a SHE Reporting Coordinator to coordinate and maintain Network Rail’s approach to collecting, collating and reporting safety, health & environment data to provide assurance that specified levels are being achieved and identity potential data improvement areas.

About The Role (External)

Vacancy Type: Secondment, Full-time.

Location: This role is based at Quadrant MK.

Closing date: 27 th October 2023

Band & Salary: 5, £25,000 – £27,000

What does the average day look like?

Support the production of corporate safety, health & environment reports to give assurance on the accuracy and completeness of the information being provided.

Check all data providers input their health & environment information in a timely manner, and drive continual improvement data provision, accuracy and reporting.

Provide the compilation of special topic and ad-hoc reports and the provision of relevant information to enable the compilation of other general reports.

Continually improve reporting indicators – e.g., adding new indicators; improving standard dashboards and reports.

Document the process for standardised approach to health & environment indicators to be collected by all functions within Network Rail.

Support SHE Analysis & Reporting Manager and SHE Data & Reporting Analysts with data quality checks of safety, health & environment reporting procedures, so that data quality is safeguarded.

Essential

  • Advanced computer skills for analysis and documentation (e.g. spreadsheets, databases, word)
  • High level of numeracy skills with experience in analytical techniques
  • Ability to link information from different sources to identity discrepancies
  • Good understanding of corporate environmental, community and health & safety issues
  • Strong communications skill, both written and verbal

Desirable

  • A degree or equivalent in numerate discipline
