About the job
UK Strategic Command develops future capabilities and works to transfer new capability programmes to the single Services. The Cyber and Influence Capability Planning Group collaborates across government to develop capabilities for use: within and through cyberspace to ensure UK Defence effectively conduct operations within this domain; and for Information Activities that shape how Defence can better deliver operations. It sponsors capability development in the areas including cyberspace and Information Operations.
You will work with a wide range of stakeholders from across UK Strategic Command as well as the other parts of Defence and UK Government to establish programmes and ensure that they are funded correctly. You will be liaising with the science and technology sector and industry to identify innovations for future capabilities.
This post would suit someone who is confident working within a small team, with a flat organisational structure and is comfortable in working on tasks independently. Flexibility and self-motivation will be important, as is an ability to make and communicate decisions. You’ll be able to understand the political, strategic and economical drivers to ensure that the programmes are relevant to user needs over time. You will be able to apply knowledge of programme delivery within the context of a cyberspace and Information Activities.
This post involves occasional travel within the UK with overnight stays.
