Amazon Web Services (AWS) is leading the next paradigm in computing and seeking talented individuals for an exciting role in our WW Global Systems Integrator team. This position is for a Partner Development Manager, GSI, Emerging Markets Central Europe, Africa & Middle East. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone that has in-depth experience of working with and growing strategic partnerships. The AWS Global System Integrator Ecosystem has grown extensively since its inception. Working with these partnerships we continue to build market leading offerings with their professional, managed service, practice, portfolio, digital transformation and cloud architect teams delivering key services that drive deep customer value and business outcomes. These roles require engagement with AWS Commercial, Enterprise and Executive Leadership teams regularly operating at CxO, Partner, MD level across all segments and verticals.

As a GSI PDM, you will deliver on our strategy to build mind share, awareness, demand and adoption of Amazon’s infrastructure web services focused on customer obsession through driving greater value from these partnerships. You will be responsible for driving top line revenue growth and overall end customer adoption in line with our leadership principle of delivering results. The ideal candidates have both a business background that enables them to engage GSI’s at ALL levels from individual sales contributors through to CXO level, a sales background that enables them to understand how to scale with GSI’s and effectively engage field sales reps and industry leaders. You should have a demonstrated ability to Think Big & strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions at scale with the aligned GSI in a repeatable way.

Key job responsibilities

  • Effectively engage C & SVP level business & technical executives within the named GSI to gain top down sponsorship
  • Leverage executive partner relationships to build trust with AWS field leadership & accelerate strategic enterprise opportunities
  • Build/Own the strategic plan for the GSI you own to drive business growth objectives.
  • Achieve goals and strategic objectives including revenue, pipeline, training and repeatable solutions – by operating with virtual teams of GSI PDM and PSM globally/regionally/in country
  • Drive industry vertical plays, business transformation initiatives with enterprise customers and deliver high quality customer outcomes
  • Build programs to execute across Emerging Markets in partnership with our SAP, Window and VM ware teams
  • Develop and execute detailed joint EMEA account business plans which have been agreed and signed off with the aligned GSI/s
  • Define key stakeholders at EMEA level and in-country and pro-actively manage the cadence with country AWS leadership teams & their peers in the GSI
  • Own all partner cadence for internal/external QBR’s. Ensure ownership is held on reviews and follow on actions/activity.
  • Become a trusted member of the sales team and coach partners on best practices to drive successful sales outcomes.
  • Manage complex contract negotiations and serve as liaison to the legal group.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work with AWS EMEA sales managers and your partner to define and execute joint sales and go to market programs.
  • Manage and drive joint sales engagements between the partner and AWS sales teams.
  • Serve as a key member of the business development team in helping to define and deliver the joint solution set and supporting collateral for industry and service campaigns.
  • Engage the partner’s field sales organization, channels, and end customers to create and drive revenue opportunities for AWS.
  • Set a strategic business development plan for target market segments and ensure it is in-line with the AWS strategic direction.
  • Identify specific customer segments and industry verticals to approach with a joint value proposition for using AWS.
  • Position AWS for internal use by the partner organization.
  • Work closely with the partner’s customer base to ensure they are successful using our web services, making sure they have the technical resources required.
  • Ensure that AWS is the partner’s preferred cloud computing platform across all product lines.
  • Understand the technical and capability requirements of our partners and work closely with the internal development team to guide the direction of our product offerings.
  • Understand and advocate for the use of salesforce.com and other internal Amazon systems.
  • Prepare and give business reviews to the senior executive management team.
  • Manage complex contract negotiations and serve as a liaison to the legal group.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of sales, business development and/or partner management experience.
  • Previous experience working for, or working closely with, a global system integrator.
  • Consistently exceeds quota and key performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence C-level executives.
  • Strong presentation and written skills coupled with the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional audiences.
  • Experience working within the cloud category is highly desired.
  • Proven experience driving revenue through partners with structured programs
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in business or related field
  • Visible IT industry thought leadership on relevant topics related to enterprise IT infrastructure, outsourcing, and cloud adoption
  • Experience building workforce capabilities in/with large system integrators
  • Broad based technology experience including cloud computing, big data and analytics, networking, security, storage and ongoing infrastructure management
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
