Within Amazon Advertising, the Ad Tech Sales and Services team is focused on developing strategic partnerships across advertising agencies and direct clients. At the center of our partnerships with customers are meaningful and scalable technology partnerships, of which services are a core constituent.

Our Ad Tech Sales and Services organization is seeking its Global Head of Programmatic and AdTech Enablement, based in New York City (preferred), London or Munich. The position may also be remote-eligible for employees residing in the E. Coast of the US, due to management responsibilities and geographical distribution of the team and stakeholders.

The driving force of all enablement initiatives is to make media buying and optimization across Amazon’s DSP easy, effective, and earned for Amazon’s largest and most strategic customers and our customer-facing Programmatic Solutions Consultants globally.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for leading large-scale initiatives to improve productivity, performance and innovation for over 180 customer-facing DSP product experts globally.

You will lead a team of 15-20 Enablement Specialists who will ensure the smooth facilitation and execution of initiatives that encompass all areas of program support and are adept at delivering sustainable change throughout the organization and managing the impact of this change. This includes, but is not limited to: a shared strategy and execution plan with in-market business leaders, creation and tracking of project plans to ensure accountability, establishment of clear KPIs to measure program success, drafting executive level & team presentations, data analysis, process design, recognizing and advocating for removal of systemic blockers to change, documentation of best practices and learnings for future initiatives. Ultimately, you will hold delivery accountability for the programs you and your teams develop to address ongoing business & customer needs.

The right person for this role is a global operator, strategist and leader. You will lead a nimble team of senior individual contributors and will collaborate directly and indirectly with senior programmatic leaders and their teams across the US, EU and APAC. The successful candidate will be strategic in thinking, analytical in approach, and have a demonstrated ability to influence the decisions of executives through effective communication, thorough analyses, logical reasoning, and applying sound judgment. Additionally, the candidate will drive operational controllership and develop mechanisms to automate and operate at scale. You have demonstrated problem-solving capabilities across both technical and non-technical teams. You know how to scale resources, processes, and tools to support a fast growing, start-up like business and have a keen understanding of how to focus on key programs and mechanisms to ensure accelerated business growth through product and process improvements.

  • Proven track record on technology and data products/service.
  • Expertise in managing a services organization to maximum efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Track record in the effective and efficient delivery of customer experience improvements through service enhancements, product automation, and process improvements.
  • Ability to anticipate bottlenecks, assess risks, mitigate issues, provide escalation management, and make tradeoffs.
  • Strong analytical skills and be comfortable working with data to develop new opportunity areas, track program metrics, and use findings to influence business decisions.
  • A collaborative approach with other leaders to ensure a favorable mix of global consistency and in-market customization for all team initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Have 12 years of experience in digital advertising services and/or large-scale customer enablement teams
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience
  • Experience with influencing internal and external stakeholders and impeccable communication skills across multiple leadership levels of an organization
  • Experience building and delivering large-scale strategic initiatives for customer-facing teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to establish credibility and influence with technical and non-technical business owners
  • Quantitative analytical abilities, experience with “big data” and ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment when working in stressful situations
  • Significant technical and operational experience with multiple domain areas of programmatic advertising technologies (DSP, RTB, bid shading, machine learning optimization, ad verification, ad tracking, ad attribution, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track records of managing teams ideally in more than one continent
  • Masters/MBA preferred
  • Experience with services or products within the ad technology or programmatic advertising space
  • Applied knowledge of measurement, statistics and program evaluation
  • Advanced knowledge of DSP within Ad Platform architecture (bidding engines, second-price vs first-price auctions, pixeling and tag managers, cookies, viewability, etc)
