Job Summary

DESCRIPTION

Do you want to work on exciting, cutting edge legal issues and help shape the Amazon Store shopping experience? We are looking for a highly motivated regulatory lawyer to support our retail business in the UK.

As a regulatory lawyer supporting our cross-category UK consumer business, you will work closely with our business teams and other lawyers to ensure regulatory compliance.

This is an exciting part of our business where you will support your clients on a broad range of regulatory legal matters. You will prepare and drive strategic decisions in a complex legal environment, working closely with our business and product compliance teams, resolving issues that arise in regulatory relationships and handling inquiries. You will be part of a broader team and work closely with our business lawyers across Europe.

We’d love to meet candidates who are inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, and passionate about building and defending the best experience for customers. The candidate should enjoy being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Resolve issues that arise during regulatory interactions.
  • Develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways.
  • Build processes that mitigate risk, yet allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years post-qualification legal experience as a minimum.
  • Fluent English language skills, both spoken and written.
  • Licensed to practice and in good standing with strong academic credentials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A team player and consensus builder with great people skills and a good sense of humour who can effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and business clients at all levels throughout the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.
