The Global catalog operations (GCO) team is part of Amazon Selection & Catalog services (ASCS) teams in India focus on leveraging human intelligence, external or internal, to measure and improve the quality of the catalog: Global catalog operations (GCO) charter is to make Catalog engineering programs more effective by providing expert human judgment. Catalog Operations from its inception has been partnering with engineering teams to run programs focused on improving the data quality of catalog in all market places.

Job Description

The Global Catalog Operations team at Amazon is looking for highly motivated and talented candidate to manage the GCO team responsible for the proactive management of quality of our catalog. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to excellence. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate outstanding collaboration and professional skills.

Core Responsibilities For This Position Include

  • Manage GCO Audit staff and oversee day-to-day operations
  • Responsible for delivering staff performance reviews
  • Prepare detailed operational reports and metrics to guide and manage staff on an on-going basis
  • Create and deliver management reports and presentations
  • Responsible for operations processes standardization for maximum efficiency
  • Ability to produce executive metrics and make recommendations for process and systems improvement
  • Scope and launch new audit activities
  • Share operational and quality best practices across the extended GCO team and contribute to the GCO program
  • Responsible for the overall value and quality of the output of the GCO Audit team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in any discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in operations management or similar fields with at least 2 years of team management experience.
  • Basic business analytics and leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of basic computer business applications such as MS Word and MS Excel, Outlook.
  • Background in web search and familiarity with various ways used for searching for information
  • Willingness to work with varying product details which spans the entire Amazon catalog.
  • Comfortable working with data and taking data driven decisions.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically and to drive execution. Should be equally comfortable with long term planning and day to day progress tracking and execution.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results in a fast paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in e-Commerce/Hi-tech/Retail industry or management consulting with focus on one of these industries
  • Background in analysis of large volume of data to drive analysis and to make decisions
  • Six Sigma certification will be a plus
  • Master’s degree in management is a plus
  • Audit certification and previous experience in data or system audit is a plus.
