Job Summary

DESCRIPTION

As Amazon continues to grow so does the demand for our Finance Operations (FinOps) data and analytics services. We are recruiting a data and analytics manager to drive Business Intelligence Business Partnering (BI BP) data strategy and lead complex programs of work, delivering the technical capabilities that enable Amazon to expand both its services and its reach.

Working with leaders around the world, you will deliver a high-quality customer experience through developing and leading strategic, cross-functional data programs. These will be aimed at delivering ongoing operational efficiency and free-cash-flow improvements through automation, upstream defect reduction and end-to-end process improvement. You will work backwards from your customer, and problem solve on their behalf. You will dive deep into their requirements, and deliver these programs through our people, processes and technology.

This role will work closely with Business Partnering, Finance Automation, Operations, Technology and Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable vertical teams across the globe.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work closely with the team manager to define the future data strategy by identifying opportunities to improve data and source new data sets
  • Drive innovation in new tools / analytical/ data automation methods to enable better performance of FinOps
  • Lead the data product pipeline, data automation, migrations and intake process
  • Work with our partners to define quality and governance controls and definitions
  • Partner with upstream Business and Technology teams to develop and deliver continuous system and process change programs to improve data through global initiatives ensuring accuracy and trust
  • Build financial and operational analyses to drive and influence data-driven leadership decisions to deliver high-quality solutions that prevent and eliminate defects and enable long-term business growth
  • Work closely with our FinOps Services teams to identify and remove roadblocks, acting as the interface between our Operations, Business, Accounting, Finance and Project Management teams
  • Build scalable models in a cost-effective way, making sound recommendations on implementation of new tools, technologies, best practices and organisational structures
  • Support Business Partnering leads in identifying and quantifying financial and operational risks and opportunities to FinOps and across the company, driving ad-hoc projects as required

Basic Qualifications

  • Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Scala, R) and SQL skills
  • Knowledge and experience of managing data operations in cloud computing (AWS ideal) with 3+ years executing analytics and data innovation roadmaps extracting value from large datasets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate in writing and orally in a manner necessary to build business relationships and positively influence data-driven senior leadership decision making
  • Experience of initiating and driving multiple complex, cross-functional, milestone driven projects simultaneously to agreed deadlines
  • Track record of earning the trust of leadership by challenging norms, enabling growth and improving efficiency
  • Project management experience, working with technology and product managers to drive technology roadmaps
