The Global Specialty Fulfillment (GSF) team that delights millions of customers around the world by delivering our most complex product lines at speeds that redefine customer expectations. The GSF Strategies Team is a collaborative group of Business Analysts, Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Engineers, Process Engineers, Applied Scientists, Data Scientists, Economists, Product Managers, and Program Managers that create people-centric, business-enabling innovations for a workforce of over a hundred thousand valued associates and leaders.

We are now recruiting for an exceptional Program Manager of Associate Proficiency.

You Will

  • Improve the experience of Amazonians and our customers. Develop, deploy, and iterate standards for peer experts to coach and guide both new-to-the company and new-to-role associates on their path to proficiency from novice to expert.
  • Inspect current processes to consider how best to accomplish this task and how Amazonians will interact with the process. Define what we can expect when we execute processes as designed and measure progress towards success.
  • Create simple, repeatable programs and processes that can be implemented, consistently executed, and measured. Identify execution outliers, understand what they do to be the benchmark, and share those best practices to improve organizational results.
  • Test hypotheses in a high-ambiguity environment making use of qualitative data, judgment, and customer feedback to inform technical efforts and refine solutions to continually improve results.
  • Collaborate with adult learning and content experts as well as stakeholders using problem solving and analytical skills in identifying and assessing talent development needs to inform multi-channel content strategy.

Key job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Thinking strategically and implementing solutions that can scale to meet the scope of the GSF organization.
  • Developing strategy for increasingly simplified processes for enabling seamless process execution by associates and managers.
  • Delivering solutions that will be business agnostic, yet cater to the different complexities that exist across various GSF business environments
  • Manage new and existing programs, successfully delivering difficult projects and goals across multiple organizations
  • Partner with other Program, Product and Tech tams to secure resources, scope efforts, set project priorities and milestones and drive delivery
  • Own program communication, accelerating progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, clearing blockers (e.g., path to green), escalating as appropriate
  • Influence design and development of strategic processes
  • Work with program managers and business leaders to communicate and impact critical business initiatives
  • Develop, implement, and govern KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across all projects and using this data to drive/influence business decisions
  • Manage post-launch support plans (e.g., post-mortem, issue/ticket management, etc.) and look for opportunities to improve program quality and operational excellence

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in applicable quantitative or technical field such as Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Proven achievements developing and managing a long-term vision and execution of a portfolio of initiatives, learning solutions, process engineering, and/or operations management.
  • Demonstrated ability to define, influence, refine, and implement processes, procedures and policies.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes and challenge conventional wisdom.
  • Experience in or demonstrated ability to influence with or without formal authority.

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, economics, industrial/organizational psychology, human resources, or other technical field.
  • Experience as a manager of hourly employees in a retail environment
  • Experience or use of PMP/Lean Six Sigma/Kaizen
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment when working in stressful situations
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, mathematic, and analytical skills using data to drive decisions in a business environment
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in effective communication of goals and strategies across multiple leadership levels of an organization
  • Proven ability to influence internal/external stakeholders without authority to adopt new processes/initiatives
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple competing projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
  • Ability to clearly communicate data insights to others
  • Demonstrated ability to dive deep in understanding the product, our business and the competitive landscape
  • High attention to detail including ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is required
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions
  • Ability to clearly communication data insights to others
  • A clear focus on the customer’s needs in the iterative development of the program
  • Ability to earn trust and influence a broad group of stakeholders
