We are looking for a Sr. Tech Business Developer with deep technology experience to build out alliances that will accelerate our Just Walk Out as a Service, Amazon One, and Dash Carts businesses.

You must have equal comfort and experience working with c-level executives and internal product and engineering teams. You will be responsible for engaging and delivering technology solutions to customers. We are looking for people with delivery record hunting, owning and executing business technology deals.

This role requires working with business teams across the company bringing the voice of the customer to our product and engineering teams, understanding and communicating critical business needs and how those translate into solutions. Experience building and negotiating complex technology contracts, partnering with finance and legal teams and being the single threaded owner for customers adopting technology solutions is key This position involves regular communication with senior leadership on status, risks and sales pipeline.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define and execute on a strategic market development plan and ensure it’s in line with the business strategic direction, in partnership with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, product teams, marketing, partner team, legal, support, etc.).
  • Identify and engage key partners including retailers, ISVs and system integrators.
  • Build business development pipeline by engaging with key prospects and partners.
  • Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings.
  • Understand the use of salesforce.com and other internal Amazon systems.
  • Present business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to expanding our reach in the retail industry.
  • Manage complex contract negotiations and liaison with the legal group
  • Handle a high volume of engagements and interactions in the fast pace of emerging and nascent technologies.

A day in the life

No two days look the same! You’ll be bouncing from partner meetings – where you will learn of potential synergies and focus on leveraging strengths, to internal strategy building – where you will propose and align resources to fulfill partner and market needs. You’ll spearhead tech integration discussions, and build business cases for investment. And just as importantly, you will be the owner of the relationship on Amazon’s behalf, and responsible for ensuring alignment and execution on the partners behalf from top to bottom.

Basic Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience with sales or business development
  • Experience negotiating contracts
  • Experience Selling technology products B2B

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA is preferred, technical background with Computer Science/Engineering/Math is a plus
  • Relevant work experience in a similar role
  • Strong leadership skills are key, with proven verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations, and lead through influence
  • Analytical skills
  • Balanced strategy, planning, and execution skills
  • CxO relationships and large network in the industry
