Prime Video is a premium on-demand video entertainment service that offers customers the greatest choice in what to watch from popular Amazon Original TV shows such as The Boys to Original Movies like The Tomorrow War. The service also offers TV shows that are exclusively available for Prime members in each country such as American Gods, Mr Robot and Nine Perfect Strangers, and more recently live sport including Premier League football.

The Prime Video Content Analytics (PVCA) team is seeking an outstanding Senior Analytics Manager/Business Intelligence Engineer to help the business leverage data to produce new insights and enable smarter decision making within content acquisition and commissions globally. You will own, develop and manage business processes, tools and technology, partnering with Prime Video Content Finance, Content Acquisition and Amazon Originals teams. You will work with key business stakeholders to identify business challenges and translate them into technical requirements that can be solved with BI and data science tools.

You will relentlessly find opportunities to automate redundant tasks and aim to create state-of-the-art tools and technology that support different business teams.

  • Support the analytical needs of the content acquisition management (CAM), Amazon Originals and Content Finance team inclusive of statistical inferences and the bespoke evaluation of content licensing deals
  • Create new metrics and KPIs that effectively guide the business and deploy effective dashboards to surface them to senior leadership
  • Ensure that the quality and timeliness of analytic deliverables meet CAM, Originals and Content Finance expectations
  • Build, analyze and present actionable data to drive business development and product management decisions
  • Help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
  • Demonstrated strength in SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing (to be tested at interview)
  • Multiple years of experience in data engineering or analytics within a technology environment
  • Advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools
  • Experience using statistical or scripting languages for data analysis (Python, SAS, R, or similar)
  • Advanced ability to draw insights from data and clearly communicate them to the stakeholders and senior management as required
  • Be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete data
  • Knowledge of data management and modeling fundamentals and data storage principles
  • Proven ability to balance competing priorities, workloads, and tight timelines in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related field
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
  • Expert in writing and tuning SQL scripts
  • Experience working in very large data warehouse environments
  • Familiarity with AWS solutions such as Redshift, S3, EC2, Quicksight
  • Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Ruby etc.)
