Amazon is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join the Tax Advisory team working with its Digital and Device businesses and based in its London office. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a high level of collegiality, functioning as a tax adviser and be comfortable directly liaising with various business teams within the company and with other members of the tax department.

You will need to be proactive enough to keep up with the pace of the business, be able to adapt to a changing environment, collaborate effectively with teams outside of Tax in different geographies, and communicate effectively with business teams and senior leaders.

Primary Duties Include

  • Owning relationships with key Digital business partners, including finance, accounting and legal teams, and acting as a trusted advisor
  • Evaluating Digital business initiatives and expansions from a tax perspective, and providing clear unambiguous advice to the business
  • Delivering technical analyses on advanced international tax issues, working with outside advisers as necessary
  • Producing appropriate written materials and analyses for both business and tax audiences
  • Coordinating and providing support effectively across the tax team as needed with other relevant sub-teams, such as tax compliance and reporting, transfer pricing and indirect tax
  • Driving implementation of agreed-upon tax strategies and projects
  • Maintaining and communicating knowledge of past, present and potential future European corporate tax laws, regulations, rulings, procedures and court decisions, and considering potential impacts on the business
  • Assisting with audits

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience with a major accounting firm, major law firm, and/or in industry
  • Broad international tax advisory experience advising multinational groups (or working in such a group)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Advisor (or equivalent) or graduate degree in taxation preferred
  • Detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of projects
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to extract, analyze, and review data and make appropriate recommendations
  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Hard working, quicker learner with a positive ”can do” attitude and solid professionalism
  • Partner well with people at all levels within an organization
  • Able to work in a fast paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment
  • Can successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
