Join us at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in building global scale compute platforms. As part of the Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) Instance Platforms organization, KaOS Hypervisor develops and maintains the hypervisors and Linux kernels present in all EC2 servers. We invent, build, and own building blocks that are the foundation of the cloud. We are looking for a new teammate who is enthusiastic, curious, empathic, motivated, reliable, with a good sense of ownership, and a drive to invent. In this role, you will work on automation infrastructure to support development and test of Xen and Nitro Hypervisors. You will work to understand our customers’ needs and pair-up with our team of software developers to engineer scalable tooling and systems for testing, fuzzing, and continually delivering the hypervisors. You will drive own and automate operations; contribute new ideas and methods to continuously improve quality and development efficiency. This position also involves on-call responsibilities, which is typically done once every 8-10 weeks. We strive to keep this down and ensure our systems are fault tolerant. Our team values work-life balance and we respect each others time; we are currently working both from home and the office, and we plan to continue to offer a weekly mix of working from home as well as from the office in 2023 & 2023.

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Interest, knowledge and experience in operations, infrastructure automation and deployment automation.
  • Proficient in tooling, frameworks and scripting languages for automation tasks.
  • Knowledge in Linux operating systems.
  • 3+ years of industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to AWS or public cloud services will be beneficial
