We are the People eXperience Foundation (PXF) organization, responsible for building the web applications and distributed web services that supports over 1 million Amazon employees every day by teaching and reinforcing our unique Day 1 culture. We do this through technology solutions powered by data, machine learning and smart automation, that help Amazonians to take actions, guide them through processes, and enable them to self-serve, so that they spend less time in product and more time delivering for customers. We are looking for a talented a designer looking to

deliver a bold vision and deliver bar-raising, customer-centric experiences. Our team directly shapes and influences the future growth of every employee at Amazon.

In this role, you’ll work with a cross-functional, highly capable team of designers, researchers, writers, product managers and engineers, inventing and iterating on end-to-end workflows and product experiences. You’ll develop your ideas with sketches, prototypes, wireframes and story boards, and confidently communicate your vision to senior executives to influence the best experience for our customers. We’re looking for someone who can bring disruptive ideas to life – you’re a skilled UI designer, with the capacity to think deeply about the architecture of the product space.

Key job responsibilities

  • Simplify and distill complex processes into simple and scalable product patterns and experiences.
  • Create and rapidly iterate on ideas using process flows, prototypes, wireframes, and higher-fidelity designs to effectively communicate design strategies and product flows.
  • Participate in the discovery and planning of new products and features while helping drive the design vision across our product suite.
  • Define information architecture across a complex suite of product experiences.
  • Lead and mentor other designers, product managers, and engineers.
  • Identify opportunities to think differently about the status quo on customer experiences, based on customer research, best practices and design thinking.
  • Work closely with UX Research to work back from the customers needs.
  • Articulately present design vision, direction and solutions to senior leadership

Our team is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Senior UX Designer to create foundational experiences that hundreds of thousands of Amazonians use every day.

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of UX design best practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organisation
  • An unfailing passion and capacity to advocate on behalf of our users.
  • Experience in projects in the strategic phase – defining requirements, gathering generative data, and connecting with customer needs
  • The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in UI copy writing/microcopy.
  • Experience in both Web and Mobile experiences

Experience in Design System processes and tooling.

  • Enterprise software design experience in a global context.
  • Proven track record of inclusive design best practices – understanding and commitment to web accessibility, localisation and universal design.
