Supplier Manager – Core Support

As part of the Future programme Asda will be separating away from Walmart and replacing every I.T system over the next 2 years. This will mean that Asda will be partnering with many new market leading technology suppliers to deliver this activity such as Microsoft, SAP, TCS, ServiceNow, NCR, and WorkDay to name a few…

To help support this we have redesigned the way we operate and have centralised all our technology supplier management capabilities into one new partnerships & cost optimisation team. This has created a number of new exciting supplier manager and supplier specialist opportunities.

We are now looking for a supplier manager to work in a FUN dynamic and exciting environment. We put a lot of investment into or colleagues, and are committed to ensure that you receive the relevant training to provide you with the opportunity to progress.

As an experienced supplier manager you will be responsible for building out a new team including the recruitment of new supplier specialists to build out a supplier management capability to ensure performance is delivered by Asda’s new primary services partner who will provide support, maintenance and development for Asda’s digital core environments including technical services, engineering, infrastructure, Cyber security, Ecommerce, Data and SAP integrations.

Your Role

  • Line management, leadership and development of a team
  • Ensure service level performance is monitored by the team and any underperformance is managed appropriately
  • Ensure appropriate reporting is in place monitoring supplier and or product performance including and call volumes to identify trends, risks and opportunity
  • Ensure team have live service improvement place for each supplier
  • Ensure appropriate support models are in place for all services, working closely with service transition for anything products or services.
  • Responsible for supplier senior level relationships and escalations
  • Cost management, ensure accurate spend tracking and forecasting in place for each supplier.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings – (save money work smarter)
  • Ensure road maps are in place and understood for all managed service solutions, including next generation operating systems, software or infrastructure to support KTLO planning.
  • Manage and build effective working internal relationships, I.E cost governance teams, service management, legal and procurement.
  • Primary stakeholder within supplier contract negotiations to ensure the best outcome for Asda
  • Responsible for all legal transition for contract renewals over £1M

About You

  • Extensive experience of managing multiple tier 1 partners / suppliers
  • Contract management, tender process experience
  • Line management experience
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Good Commercial acumen
  • Logical and methodical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task
  • A good understanding of and in in technology
