Supply Chain Development Manager

Location: Lichfield, West Midlands

Department: Supply Chain

Reports to: Director of Supply Chain Development

The Role

This role is a key function within the team; you will be supporting the implementation of our global strategy. We focus on establishing supply chain capabilities that meet the needs of our business through supporting the transformation of our supply chain functions from inbound through to customer returns. This includes the exploration and set up of new FCs, the automation and mechanization of built FCs, the management and enhancements of our existing infrastructure to support business growth and delivering customer focused initiatives with a consideration to profitability of our proposition.

You will be…

  • Supporting the definition and delivery of supply chain strategy, across both transformational projects and optimisation of our existing processes and infrastructure
  • Supporting with on-going evolution of our SCD Portfolio, developing conceptual supply chain solutions, securing buy-in from senior management
  • Actively partner with supply chain and wider business operational teams to support on-going reviews, evaluating current processes and using industry knowledge to identify opportunities to optimise
  • Establishing and maintain excellent collaborative relationships with all internal stakeholders
  • Partnering across functions and our supplier base to establish best practice standards, ways of working and associated metrics to provide transparency on performance
  • Championing and driving standardisation through best practice across our network wherever possible
  • Managing external suppliers in support of projects and on-going relationships where required
  • Representing supply chain as a subject matter expert in business-driven project initiatives or working groups
  • Creating robust business cases and working with key stakeholders to enable business/commercial sign off
  • Leading and managing the deployment of strategic projects or workstreams within larger programmes
  • Developing and executing lean plans to realise optimisation benefits that will drive efficiency, savings and ensure we remain customer obsessed
  • Driving delivery of project plan documentation, ensuring correct levels of project governance are in place
  • Managing project budgeting and forecasting, ensuring that all deviations are well managed and communicated effectively
  • Supporting post-implementation review process, ensuring visibility of benefits realisation against original business cases
  • Using industry knowledge and research through networks and professional bodies to ensure that ASOS supply chain is aware of new technologies and continually reviewing innovative solutions
  • Supporting the development of our team through various methods including mentoring and coaching of individuals; sharing insights and best practice

Qualifications

We’d love to meet, someone with

  • Strong previous experience with complex Business Change Programmes of work. Desirable that significant experience will be in a direct fulfilment retail & e-Commerce logistics environment
  • Experience of working with geographically dispersed partners.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced project environment, with experience of solution design, implementation and testing highly desirable
  • A proven track record of delivering results with limited or no line management responsibility and integrating with 3rd parties to ensure effective overall delivery
  • Financial Management experience including business case and ROI creation, budget management and forecasting
  • Project and Programme delivery experience at senior level for projects > £1m and/or programmes > £5m+ delivered across multiple geographies and diverse cultures
  • Supplier relationship and commercial management experience including negotiation of contractual terms and shaping of work to be delivered by 3rd parties
  • Experience of process design and re-engineering
  • A passion for the customer with the ability to understand their ASOS experience, concerns and issues
  • The ability to apply programme management training and experience to build pragmatic solutions to meet ASOS’ business challenges and opportunities
