Controls Business Partner – Markets Front Office

As a Barclays Controls Business Partner – Markets Front Office, you will be working with the Pan Markets coverage team. This is a first line of defense role responsible for ensuring effective governance is maintained across key stakeholder processes underpinning controls, to strengthen the control environment. This includes providing Control Business Partnership services to the Markets Front Office team, which may include supporting controls related reporting and governance processes.

What will you be doing?

• Providing robust, effective and insightful reporting, analysis and communication to provide assurance to senior management that the business is compliant
• Conducting data and root cause analysis to identify emerging trends and issues in order to influence control environment enhancements
• Partnering with the broader Markets Front Office controls team to execute the RCSA, including project management of the Markets plan, performance of consistently
• Providing completeness analysis, and qualitative reviews of program output
• Partnering with the RCSA and Markets Front Office Controls teams to review the completeness and accuracy of the Control Library, and recommend changes
• Participating in control enhancement and control remediation efforts driven by the Markets business, and ensure changes are sufficiently positioned within the RCSA
• Partnering with the Pan Markets team to ensure compliance with all aspects of the Barclays Control Framework and its aligned policies and standards
• Performing Issues, Risk Events, Risk Acceptances, Lessons Learned in accordance with BCF standards

What We’re Looking For

• Degree level qualification or equivalent
• Experience in Operational Risk and Controls roles, or relevant experience in or supporting the Markets business
• Practical experience of Risk and Control governance activities including Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), other risk and control environment assessments and Control Fora
• Experience of reviewing of policy & standards, preparing gap analysis and delivering actions to complete

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Working knowledge of Markets Front Office processes and controls
• Excellent attention to detail, with solid analytical skills and an ability to make sound judgements and be comfortable influencing peers and stakeholders
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills for the purposes of creating senior level governance and reporting
• Highly-organised, with ability to prioritise and work under pressure, delivering to tight deadlines and multiple demands across a ‘matrix’ organisation
