Designer

As a Barclays Designer, you will be supporting the vision and strategy for Technology & Operations across Barclays, in delivering a seamless, end-to-end technology solutions to clients. Driving digital simplification and mass automation for our customers and colleagues. As a Designer you will interact with the Solution and Business Analysts to understand the requirement and translate the requirement in component level design with details captured for it to be converted into a working component.

Hybrid Working

What will you be doing?

• Leading definition of high level and detailed design of the product on AWS
• You will lead development of the Concept, End-to-End Solution including Functional and Technical designs, ensuring architectural governance approvals are obtained
• Designing and supporting the implementation of resilient, scalable solutions for the platform
• Interacting with the solution and business analyst to understand the requirement
• You will translate the requirement in component level design with enough details captured for it to be converted into a working component
• Giving walkthroughs to the various stake holders including the internal team
• Assisting the test team in creating and reviewing test scripts
• Providing support at various stage including pre and post release

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in architecting and delivering E2E mission critical applications on AWS
• Prior experience working in teams that utilise software development methodologies, e.g. waterfall, agile
• Software development consisting of some of the following languages and technologies: Java, JSP, Struts 2, J2EE frameworks: Springboot / Hibernate, Databases, using HTML 5 etc
• Experience with application servers (JBoss, Tomcat, Apache), Version Control Software (SVN / CVS / Git / Gerrit), Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, DevOps basics

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Prior AWS knowledge and / or certification
• Proven ability to build effective internal relationships
• Working technical knowledge which will help to articulate the business requirement into functional and component solution
• Experience in understanding and reviewing Test script
