Events Coordinator – 12 months FTC

As a Barclays Event coordinator you will be managing, developing and executing a diverse range of events to the highest standard through excellent organisational skills, innovation and creativity. You will be responsible for ensuring activity is aligned with business objectives, firm-wide policies and procedures, marketing/communications strategies and our corporate narrative. You will be Responsible for all aspects of event management on a varying scale of events, often leading a project from start to finish.

Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances

What will you be doing?

  • Planning end-to-end event activity, preparing and managing event budgets and end-to-end finance processing
  • Managing event timelines, project plans and procurement activities and supporting colleagues with theirs
  • Delegate management including invitation production, joining instructions and on-site management
  • Following all internal processes and policies; and using internal technology systems effectively
  • You will be responsible for ensuring we are adhering to our health and safety risk assessment procedures for all events
  • Liaising and regularly communicating with internal hosts to proactively recommend event activity, reviewing their detailed event requirements and maintaining communication

What We’re Looking For

  • Professional experience running events, including budget, stakeholder and logistics management alongside industry knowledge and experience
  • Working experience of producing Virtual events using platforms e.g. TalkPoint, Open Exchange or similar
  • Proficient in Microsoft skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Aptitude and ability to navigate using different Event technology systems – (OneEvent; Flightdeck/ACE; AIP; SAP; Aventri)

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Proven skills and experience in negotiation and project management
  • London, UK and Europe Events Industry knowledge
  • European Languages an advantage

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
