Executive Assistant

Glasgow

As a Barclays Executive Assistant, you will be providing professional and efficient EA/PA support to the MD/Ds. You will work closely with a number of senior executives and their support offices. You take an active interest in the environment you work in, building knowledge of the business and function’s processes and objectives so the MDs/Ds you support can rely on your judgment to understand relative priorities.

Barclays is one of the world’s largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive, and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?

  • Organising a wide range of meetings / meeting rooms (internal/external)
  • Actively managing diaries for several managers
  • Acting as the main reference point both in presence and absence of managers
  • Welcoming and supporting customers on visits, providing hospitality as required
  • Collating and circulating meeting agendas/papers
  • Dealing with general correspondence as appropriate
  • Processing expense reports, facilitating invoicing through the Coupa system
  • Actively preparing materials, treating all materials with due care and confidentiality

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a EA/PA supporting MDs/Ds
  • Knowledge / skill / competency in tools such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Prior experience working within a fast paced and demanding environment (Financial Services Industry)
  • Familiar using MS Teams, Coupa and Concur systems

Where will you be working?

We’ve been in Scotland for 250 years, and Scotland’s significance to Barclays has never been as important as it is today. You can find the Aurora Building in Bothwell Street, a short walk from both Central and Queen Street Stations, and not far from Sauchiehall Street and Argyll Street, two of the city’s main shopping hubs. We’re committed to giving everyone the opportunity to thrive at Barclays, investing in our people, communities, and facilities – highlighted by our new state-of-the-art campus opening soon in the city centre.
