Project Manager – 12 months Fixed Term contract

As a Barclays Project Manager, you will be joining our HR Optimisation team, supporting the HR Lead and Director across a variety of HR projects, namely supporting the current HR Transformation programme impacting colleagues across HR and the broader organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a knowledgeable team, where you will be playing a key role in managing the team’s work streams, partnering with senior stakeholders across multiple parts of HR and across the Group.

Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances

What will you be doing?

  • Managing a range of HR activities as part of a large scale, strategic programmes, working with multiple HR areas
  • Ensuring that sufficient level of detail and integration occurs across the projects and quality plans are prepared and maintained
  • Preparing regular and accurate reports on progress against plan to stakeholders, through collaboration with the project leads
  • Identifying and managing project risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, escalating as appropriate via the agreed governance framework
  • Providing detailed and robust reporting to key stakeholders and Project Forums and where required, writing programme updates to be delivered to the programme leadership team
  • Monitoring actual performance against overall project deliverables and taking remedial actions
  • Overseeing and supporting the Change Management project ensuring impacts assessment, training and communication activities are fit for purpose
  • Ensuring projects being managed are compliant with relevant HR Optimisation framework governance methodologies

What We’re Looking For

  • Project Management/Practitioner level accreditation (e.g. Prince 2, PMI, APM, Agile)
  • Project management experience, working on business-driven initiatives with impact on Financial Services and Banking, as well as on large scale HR transformation programmes
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, being able to liaise with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Project and Visio skills

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Ability to work and to manage across multiple projects, Business Units, functional teams and geography would be advantageous
  • Good team and collaboration skills, being able to work effectively within a fully hybrid working team is preferred
  • Knowledge of HR processes and systems would help you thrive into this role
