As a Barclays Lead Software Developer you will work as part of a team that undertakes the development, test support and implementation work for their Global PayPlus system (Finastra product). Your duties will involve Initial Design & Project Planning, Team management and Development, Software Development, Defining and Implementing Software Development Standards and Personal Development.

What will you be doing?

• Using payment product technical knowledge to contribute to the solution definition / high level design specification for new projects complying with the design guidelines
• Assisting in the production of estimates for the development of software and refining estimates to required tolerances
• Defining and developing code adhering to code control / code management procedures and standards at all times
• Undertaking software unit testing and software component testing
• Creating and maintaining the framework that would enable unit test specifications for software components to be developed
• Being the point of contact for the development area facing into various stakeholders offering rational realistic views from a technology perspective
• Identifying RAIDs, escalating to VP engineering Lead / project management as and when necessary

What We’re Looking For

• Payment Product Technology and development skills with knowledge around Java / C++ OOPS technology i.e. class templates, string manipulations API and memory utilisation
• Exposure to database ER models/product architecture and objects integration as well as installation methods
• Experience of payment processing flows i.e. object scope with an awareness of ISO payments processing
• Very strong programming skills in Oracle PL/SQL including performance tuning

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Understanding of the infrastructure layer hosting the application (web-server, MQ manager, High Availability/resiliency techniques, Monitoring tools AppDynamics, Tivoli,
• Awareness of Test Automation tools/framework (BDD Gherkin/ Selenium )
