Machine Learning Solution Designer

As a Barclays Machine Learning Solution Designer, you will be joining the team at an exciting time. Working as a team, you will be responsible for the overall integrated and optimal Machine Learning (ML) solutions by leveraging available tools and technologies, as well as adopting the advancements happening in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Machine Learning space.

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?

• Managing and working with the teams of designers, technical leads, developers to drive ETL, Warehousing, Machine Learning, Data Driven MI, BI, and Analytics solutions
• Producing end-to-end (e2e) ML solution design covering range of technologies, programming languages, on-prem and cloud platforms, open source packages
• Ensuring consistency in approach, design, and output to deliver quality and optimal integrated solutions
• Leading the strategy for the Design team to ensure we are positioned to confront the changes and developments in future banking and user interfaces
• Communicating at all levels in a clear and credible way about the importance of customer-focused solution design

What We’re Looking For

• Knowledge of Machine Learning frameworks, libraries, data modeling and software architecture
• Strong understanding and experience of designing solutions covering ETL, Warehouse, MI, Big data, Analytics, ML and Cloud – e.g. AWS and its services to e2e ML lifecycle
• Understanding of Micro-service Application Architecture, Docker concepts.
• Comprehensive understanding of the wide variety of technologies pertinent to Banking products such as current accounts, secured and unsecured lending

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Bachelor’s degree with preferred specialisation in IT, Mathematics
• Experience of Statistical analysis techniques, ML model build and AI methods
• Detail oriented and proven ability to understand business and nonfunctional requirements and transform into fully functional technical solution
• Understand different project methodologies, project lifecycles, major phases, dependencies and milestones within a project, and the required documentation needs

Where will you be working?

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64-acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.
