PLSQL Developer

As a Barclays Developer, you will work within the Application Development team in Glasgow. Primarily supporting the Business and Operations teams situated within the International Private Bank across UK, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. You will have an exciting opportunity to work with the latest Avaloq technology and satellite interfaces to assist Barclays Wealth team to expand further into these international areas.

What you’ll be doing?

• Delivering quality solutions across multiple software projects, providing technical skill and relevant experience of the techniques and tools
• Working on all phases of software development within a project team
• Providing support to the local Head of Development, deputising where nominated and required
• Working within various business areas to obtain and clarify detailed technical requirements designing, coding and unit testing software components for new or enhanced IT systems
• Providing technical support to Project Managers and Business Analysts; developing an in-depth awareness of relevant software design /development tools and processes

What We’re Looking For

• Prior experience working with Avaloq Script, Oracle PL, SQL – alternatives: Finacle, BaNCS, T24
• Understanding of UNIX , Java, Kubernetes / Openshift, Kafka, Angular
• Working knowledge on any banking products or alternatively in other core banking solutions.
• Prior experience working through the software development lifecycle within a Project team

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence
• In depth knowledge of financial services, and proven track within the Finance industry
• Overall banking application knowledge, including functional modules like security trading, order management, settlement, corporate actions, credit, payments
