Equity Finance Application Support

As a Barclays Equity Finance Application Support, you will be responsible for ensuring the continued availability, effectiveness and accuracy of production systems primarily for GLOBAL ONE and its related applications in support of the business, and be a point of contact for the escalation of issues affecting the operations of the bank’s Equity Finance (EF) business.

What will you be doing?

• Working closely with Business, Development, Global Infrastructure and supporting Vendors to facilitate the successful delivery of Change to the Production environment
• Representing Technology in front of the business and taking ownership of issue escalations through to resolution or escalation, as appropriate
• Following ITIL standards of Incident Management, Change Management and Problem Management etc
• Engaging with stakeholders within the business BTB and RTB Leads
• Interacting with colleagues in Glasgow/London, TCS RTB team, RTB/BTB teams in India/UK/USA and APAC/UK/US Business on a regular basis to improve service levels
• Driving Major Incident Management calls and processes, using analytical skills to direct technical resources in the investigation and resolution of high impacting technology issues
• Overseeing/directly engaging complex Incident and Problem Management cases through to resolution, which should be driven by the TCS Portfolio leads

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelors degree or higher in a technical (computing or engineering) or mathematics subject area
• Knowledge of OS: Unix, Linux, Windows
• Knowledge of Shell/Perl Scripting, SQL, PLSQL, Java & Middleware interfaces
• Knowledge of Autosys, PGP Encryption/Decryption

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Ability to read code and have a strong UNIX Shell/PERL scripting and SQL skill set as many of the queries will be against scripting and database data
• Client facing experience with emphasis on good communication and soft skills (i.e.: must be confident handling difficult people/situations)
• ITIL Certificate and ability to demonstrate practical application of the ITIL principles in to an Application Management function at a financial institution
