As a Barclays Project Manager, you will be part of the Customer Digital & Data team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage multiple component teams in the delivery of hardware and software releases for one or more applications/ products across the end-to-end software development lifecycle through the use of internal & third party resources.

Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances

What will you be doing?

  • Leading, owning and managing effective impact in the assessment process
  • Reporting on progress against plan, defining and implementing any corrective action as required
  • Identifying and recommending action to resolve risks and issues, leveraging on resource and stakeholders effectively to manage escalations
  • Prioritising project deliverables based on benefits delivery and impact to organisation
  • Identifying opportunities for process re-engineering to improve efficiency and/or cut costs.
  • Attending approval boards and provide assisting documentation
  • Managing the planning, coordinating and supervision of all activities related to the design, engineering, development, testing and delivery of projects
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with the Technology team(s) to manage requirements and ensure projects deliver to time, cost and quality measures

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience of software development methodologies, Waterfall and Agile
  • Significant experience of Project Management and IT delivery
  • Demonstrable Project Management qualification with experience of managing a portfolio of projects (£500K – £2M cash per annum) in a complex organization

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Experience of full Microsoft Office suite
  • Project Management experience within a financial institution (preferred, not essential)
  • Experience tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Familiarity with the Financial Services environment

Where will you be working?

Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we’ve been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
