Senior Integration Engineer

As a Barclays Senior Integration Engineer, you will be part of The Cost and Performance Management (C&PM) team who provides services and solutions that enable senior management to effectively monitor and manage the Key Performance metrics for the Bank. You will be a key member of an expanding Data Integration practice. This is a hands-on technical role with direct responsibility for the delivery of critical “stories” across a wide range of projects.

Hybrid Working

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?

  • Collaborating with colleagues on project deliveries using the Agile story-based methodology
  • Assuming collective responsibility for ensuring that the team delivers good quality and maintainable code with high test coverage
  • Working with analysts and other non-technical story owners to deliver to specification
  • Contributing to architecture and design decisions monthly
  • You will be involved in key migrations from pre-prod environments to the PROD environment
  • Optimizing, refining and performance tuning applications, script and processes
  • Keeping others updated on progress against milestones and pro-actively managing issues and blockers
  • Contributing ideas, techniques and other improvements using the principle of Kaizen (continual improvement)

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree/Masters in a technical, science, engineering, mathematical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience of Data Transformation/Data Science or ETL
  • Experience in application development in Java/Python or similar language

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • EPM Applications with particular emphasis on Oracle Hyperion
  • Packaged ETL suites such as Informatic or SSIS and/or bespoke solutions based around Python or similar
  • Scheduling tools e.g. Tivoli, Autosys and Abinitio Control Centre
  • Big Data storage technologies, Cloudera and Spark
