ServiceNow System Administrator

As a Barclays ServiceNow System Administrator, this is an exciting opportunity where you will take ownership for 2nd line support of ServiceNow & ServiceNow discovery, & related service management offerings within IT Service Management area. Your key priorities are ServiceNow platform performance & maintaining platform for key users of this application like command center / platform team etc. This is your chance to showcase your experience with different modules of servicenow & be able to analyse the issue & apply solution as appropriate.

What will you be doing?

  • Working knowledge of core module of servicenow (change management/ incident/problem/ discovery)
  • Being proactive in working on servicenow platform improvement and monitoring aspects
  • Recognising potential and actual issues proactively, finding defects and coordinateing with Engg team for resolution
  • Coordinating with operations managers in post-mortem process and provide true timelines, observations and recommendations.
  • Having awareness of and documenting the current “as is processes” and “to be processes” and then work for continuous Service improvement
  • Ensuring implementation of change requests and service requests as required
  • Handling major incidents as per the established process
  • You will be working collaboratively with the stakeholders, development team and BA’s as a part of wider service management product team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in assisting various modules within ServiceNow (e.g. Change, Incident, Knowledge, Problem, CMDB, Discovery, Security Operations, Service Catalogue).
  • Good knowledge of LINUX (RHEL7 +, Windows 2012 and databases (SQL / Oracle)
  • Experience in writing custom JavaScript code to perform adhoc task to reduce manual work
  • Troubleshooting of SN Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Include, and Background Scripts.

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Expresses self in a knowledgeable and confident manner in stakeholders call or PIR calls
  • Expertise in creating and maintaining Access Control Rules for securing and providing the right access to the right person/role.
  • Experience of administrating toolsets – ServiceNow , SN Discovery, Security operations, etc.)
  • Reducing Manual using automation script for team.

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.
