Prime Equity Finance Java & Service Developer

As a Barclays Prime Equity Finance Java & Service Developer, you will be joining Pre Trade – Prime Finance team within Pre trade technology area. Your primary objectives of this role is building, improving, and supporting Equity Finance trading services in Java/ fit-for-purpose technologies. Your secondary objective will be to replace existing stored procedures and legacy components with new Micro Services. The Equity Finance IT team is accountable for development and support of the core trading application used to conduct Stock Loan business.

Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances

What will you be doing?

• Working directly with Product Managers and traders on financial models and calculations
• Being accountable for specific project deliverables for Equity Finance Platforms
• Managing front2back development across Business/ Regulatory/ Control demands
• Taking Ownership and/or influencing change, project timelines, and architecture
• Designing, building, testing, and deploying Magics application components
• Actively ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements
• Being accountable for building out the Secured Finance applications and infrastructure to support key strategic, regulatory, and control programs.
• Interacting with stakeholders across the business, operations, various control functions, and the trading desk

What We’re Looking For

• Past experience in Java Core as well as SQL server
• Experience with Java Spring Boot/ Hibernate
• Solid skills with MQ messaging (MQ, SSIS, Solace)
• Knowledge with the Unix / Linux operating system + shell scripting

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Experience / knowledge of the Unix / Linux operating system + shell scripting
• Experience / Knowledge of windows server Programming – batch scripting
• Solid knowledge with Angular / Web Development
• Exposure to Maven and NPM
