Software Engineer

As Barclays Software Engineer this is an exciting opportunity where you will be working on the proprietary card payment service. You will be part of an Agile Development team who are responsible for the design and development of the principal UI applications, which allow our operations staff and our merchants to configure the service.

What will you be doing?

• Being responsible for extending and enhancing our existing configuration portal application
• Participating in the design and development of our new configuration portal application
• Working closely with Business Analyst and fellow developers to understand requirements
• Designing and implementing new functionality with accompanying unit tests

What We’re Looking For

• BA Degree in mathematics, engineering, computing or commercial software development experience
• Fully competent in development using Java & associated technologies (e.g. Spring Boot)
• UI development experience using JavaScript, HTML, JSP and/or JSF
• Understanding of Object Oriented concepts

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Payments industry experience
• Appreciation of the need to adhere to secure coding practices
• Experience of working within an Agile team
• Ability to estimate development work at User Story level

Where will you be working?

Situated in the heart of Fleet, Logic house is easily accessible by both public and personal transport. It is located 2 minutes’ walk from the railway station – with regular services to Basingstoke, Woking & London – and less than 5 minutes’ drive from the M3. Parking is provided for permanent staff based at Logic House.
