Solutions Designer

As a Barclays Solutions Designer, you will be working for the accuracy and ultimate suitability of the end-to-end technology solution required to fulfil the goals of the various programmes and projects. Once successful will provide domain knowledge and architectural direction across variety of digital products and will ensure that the end-to-end technology design fully supports agreed scope.

What will you be doing?

• Providing technical consultancy for new initiatives, to assist in the definition of business requirements or technical strategies
• Developing proof-of-concept for feasibility and business demonstration in a quick time
• Owning application architecture for allocated projects, identifying and engaging all technical component teams that need to contribute
• Assisting project definition and produce necessary artefacts
• Refining business requirements considering technical constraints and opportunities bridging gaps between business and technical teams

What We’re Looking For

• Application architecture experience is essential with practical experience of defining technical solutions, documenting and driving to delivery
• Experience in systems integration projects
• Ability to exhibit technical acumen throughout the project life cycle

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Knowledge of technical constraints of live environment / architecture, ability to help business clients in understanding any ‘requirement versus cost’ trade-offs
• Solution architect and enterprise architect training and certification, e.g. TOGAF, BCS accreditation
• Exposure to Service Orientated Architecture design principles, service definition and web services implementation including exposure of API components to external consumers

Where will you be working?

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64-acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
