Stack Developer

As a Barclays Stack Developer, you will be joining the team at an exciting time. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Self-Service and Cash team that delivers functionality to our ATMs, Assisted Service Counters, Quick Service Points, Online Banking Points and Counter desktops. As part of the ATM Stack team, you will work on the software stack used by Barclays ATM devices in the self-service estate.

Hybrid working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. What Will You Be Doing

• You will be working on customisations to the proCash application and the 3rd party agents that support the maintainability and security elements of the ATMs
• Working on several tools that support the creation and delivery of releases (USB builds and patches
• Developing and maintaining good relationships with the application support teams to ensure effective delivery of projects into the production environment
• You will be a key member within one of the agile feature teams
• Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues, including graduates, interns and higher apprentices
• Identifying own and others’ development needs and seeking opportunities to address these needs through guidance, coaching and formal training

What We’re Looking For

• Hands-on C++/C#, HTML, JavaScript, Windows Batch and Powershell scripts
• Experience in writing unit tests and automated test scripts
• Good understanding of software engineering principles (OOP, TDD, etc)
• Familiarity with software development methodologies, e.g. Agile, Scrum, Lean, CI

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Familiarity with Diebold Nixdorf ProCash platform, XFS experience

Where will you be working?

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.
